Key Message From The President

Mr. Imdad Ali
President, Al-Asar Welfare Organization (AAWO)

It is with immense pride and heartfelt gratitude that I share this message on behalf of the Al-Asar Welfare Organization (AAWO). Since our establishment in 2010, AAWO has been steadfast in its commitment to serving humanity, driven by compassion, integrity, and an unwavering belief in the dignity and potential of every individual.

Our journey began in the aftermath of devastating floods, where we stood alongside the most vulnerable providing relief, temporary learning centers, and hope for thousands of affected families. Over the years, this mission has grown to encompass a broad spectrum of humanitarian and development initiatives, including disability rehabilitation, inclusive education, youth empowerment, women’s development, poverty alleviation, and health and livelihood programs.

At AAWO, we believe that lasting change is built through partnerships, community participation, and sustainable solutions. This belief has led us to collaborate with government departments, civil society organizations, and international partners—most notably with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, to expand access to essential rehabilitation and support services.

Every project we undertake—be it a skill development program for young people, therapy for a child with special needs, or an advocacy campaign for gender equality—stems from our core values: inclusion, equity, compassion, and empowerment. Our success stories are not measured merely in numbers, but in the lives transformed, barriers broken, and opportunities created.

As we look to the future, we remain deeply committed to strengthening our programs, expanding our reach, and adapting to the evolving needs of the communities we serve. We aim not only to respond to challenges but to build resilience, encourage self-reliance, and inspire hope.

I extend my deepest appreciation to our dedicated team, volunteers, donors, and partners who have made this journey possible. Together, we will continue to strive for a society where every person regardless of ability, gender, or background, can live with dignity, access opportunity, and realize their full potential.

With hope and determination,

Imdad Ali
President
Al-Asar Welfare Organization (AAWO)

About Us

Who We Are

Al-Asar Welfare Organization (AAWO) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, formally registered under the Social Welfare Department, Government of Sindh, since 2010. Born from a commitment to serve humanity, AAWO began its journey during one of the most challenging humanitarian crises in Pakistan’s history  the devastating floods of 2010.

From its very inception, AAWO has stood as a pillar of hope and resilience for communities in crisis. In the early days, our work centered on providing emergency relief to flood-affected families: delivering food, shelter, clean water, and medical support to thousands who had lost everything. But we quickly realized that true recovery required more than immediate aid  it demanded long-term rehabilitation, education, empowerment, and community development.

Over the years, our organization has evolved from a relief-focused entity into a comprehensive development and welfare institution serving vulnerable populations across Sindh and Pakistan. We have successfully implemented more than 25 impactful projects, each addressing critical social needs and creating sustainable change.

Our Vision

At Al-Asar Welfare Organization, we dare to dream of a Pakistan where every person, regardless of ability, gender, age, or background, stands tall with dignity, purpose, and hope.

We envision a truly inclusive society—one without physical, social, or economic barriers where Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are not limited by their impairments, where women are not bound by inequality, where youth are not held back by lack of opportunity, and where no individual is silenced by poverty or social exclusion.

In our vision, disability is not a limitation, gender is not a barrier, and poverty is not a life sentence. Instead, these are challenges that can be transformed into strengths through compassion, opportunity, and collective action.

We believe that when individuals are given access to quality education, rehabilitation, skills, healthcare, and the means to participate fully in society, they become agents of their own transformation and that transformation ripples out to families, communities, and the nation as a whole.a way of life.

Our Mission

Our mission is rooted in the conviction that lasting change begins when communities are empowered from within. Since our inception, Al-Asar Welfare Organization has worked with an unwavering commitment to uplift the most marginalized those whose voices are often unheard, whose rights are often overlooked, and whose potential remains untapped.

Our mission unfolds through a comprehensive, multi-dimensional approach:
